Fun with Co-op

We have so much fun with co-op, experiencing science and history come to life. It is such a joy to have so much fun learning with our friends. Here are a few pictures of some of the things we get to do.

Camping in the Spring?!?!

We had a stretch of abnormally warm and beautiful weather in the spring, so we took advantage of it by going camping. We chose to go to Penrose Point State Park, a place I used to go when I was a nanny. I have lots of fun memories there, so it was great to make some with my kids. We played in the low tide, went hiking, and had a rousing game of hide and seek in the woods. But I think the most memorable time, was trying to pack up in the absolutely pouring rain!

Our favorite, smores!

Low tide treasures, crabs!

End of the Oregon Trail

In May, our co-op took a wonderful field trip to Oregon City and Fort Vancouver. The kids saw cannons, a blacksmith shop, homes from the period, covered wagons, and so much more. But their favorite part, staying at the hotel and swimming in the pool. Of course.

Josiah, Isabel, and Asher loved the cannons.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Jason turned 33 this year and the kids love to make him feel special. Isabel wanted to get up in the middle of the night and decorate the house. Then in the morning the kids made him a happy face breakfast...because he makes them so happy!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning James 1:17

Happy Birthday Space Needle

In 1962 the Space Needle was built for the World's Fair held in Seattle. We are so blessed to have a view of it right out our front door! So of course, when the big birthday party came, we had to go and celebrate. We took the fam and Sully over to go up to the top one of the $1 rides! The day was beautiful so the view was amazing. Isabel suffered a little bit of height fear, but for the most part, it was just a great time. Then we came down to play in the fountain and ride some rides. We try to enjoy living in the city as much as we can while the Lord has us here.

Unless the LORD builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127:1

Egg Hunts are a Zoo

Especially if you are actually at the zoo. We took Grandma and Grandpa Bone to the zoo for the egg hunt this year. We had no idea what to expect because we had not actually been there, but it was really wonderful. It was crowded, but they did a great job of spreading everyone out and it didn't feel overwhelming. Plus there were plenty of eggs and the kids loaded up as you can see below. There were plenty of fun games as well, Asher was very serious about the egg and spoon race. The best part of it was sharing it all with Grandma and Grandpa.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...1 Peter 1:3

Asher really wants to win. He is very focused!

He is Risen

I love holidays and making new traditions. This year, we added a few wonderful traditions to our Easter celebration. Here is one of those, the kids making resurrection gardens. With a little dirt for the hill, rocks for the tomb and surroundings, and twigs for the cross, the kids made a beautiful and simple reminder of our God with a beautiful and simple message.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. John 11:25-26

Goodbye Molly and Zach

Our dear friends from co-op, Molly and Zach, have moved to California. Before they left, we had a day at the farm. The kids enjoyed riding the train, the four-wheelers, and playing with all of the wonderful animals. We love them dearly and will miss them.
