Beach Day

Today was the first low-tide of the season so we decided to check it out. Isabel really enjoyed herself, but Josiah has decided that water and getting wet is really scary. So we had our fair share of screaming and tears! Here are some pictures of our day!

Isabel found herself a friendly crab (he had really passed away)

Josiah didn't even want to walk on the sand

The Farm Field Trip

I've become the unofficial pre-school coordinator for our homeschool co-op. I decided before the baby comes, I should do something fun for the kiddos, so I set up a spring planting field trip to the farm. We had 30 kids sign up including some from our church friends, and they were able to plant marigolds, run around the hay maze, pet the farm animals, go on a hay ride, plant pumpkin seeds, and have an ice cream treat. The kids had a great time and we are looking forward to going back in the fall and finding those pumpkins that we planted.

Spring Camping

Jason's taken up camping the last few months, just trying to get some time alone to pray and talk to God. This month we decided to extend his trip and join him for a second night. It was nice because he had everything all set up, we just had to join in the fun. The hike was great, there was so much for the kids to see and do, climb bridges, bug collect, pretend fish in the creek, and we even found a slide that nature had carved into an old fallen tree. The hike led to the beach where the kids were able to run and dig to their hearts content. That part was great, the not so great part was sleeping. My 30 year old, 8 month pregnant body didn't do so well, and I spent two days paying for it. I guess my dreams for one more camping trip before the baby comes are out the window!

I don't think Josiah actually ate a marshmallow, he just like putting a stick into the fire!

My Wonderful Husband

Everyone really should know just how wonderful Jason is. I'm putting some pictures in here just to prove it. He's such a great father and husband. We are so blessed!

He's never too tired to play horsey! Okay, well maybe he is, but he still always plays.

Flowers from the farmers market for Isabel.
She says "Mom, Dad said that these flowers were for a girl whose name starts with "I" that's me!!!"

No, my camera!

Well, I've finally paid the price for letting the kids take pictures with my camera. Of course they are never quite content playing with their own two kid-friendly digital camera. I guess the allure of a camera that could break at any minute is much more exciting. And now, well goodbye camera!

I had no idea my camera had been in such peril.
I'm sorry new camera, I'll be much more protective of you!

Hmmm, I wonder which little angel is responsible. Couldn't be Josiah!

Penguins!

They finally opened the new penguin exhibit at the zoo. We were able to attend the member's only opening...which was quite crowded. Isabel actually got hurt and so of course the kids got a popcicle to make it all better, I'm such a pushover! But I'm looking forward to going back on a more normal day. It's really great, we got to get up close and personal with the penguins.

Popcicles really are the best medicine!
